Regenerative by design
We hold to one idea: to leave this land stronger than we found it. That is regenerative tourism, not merely sustainable, where every stay puts more back into the fynbos, the wildlife and the people than it takes out.

We would rather be measured by independent bodies than grade our own work. These are the standards we are pursuing — a direction, not badges we already hold.
The science-based benchmarking and certification programme for sustainable tourism. We are working toward EarthCheck certification; it is a goal in progress, not a certification we currently hold.
A global community of nature-based tourism businesses held to the 4C framework — Conservation, Community, Culture and Commerce. We are pursuing membership.
What we already do
Drone-supported protection of the reserve's rhino, run through the Gondwana Conservation Foundation.
The Strategic Alien Removal Programme clears black wattle so the indigenous fynbos can return.
Supporting the long-term survival of a vulnerable predator in the wild.
Education for local children, and a tertiary fund taking students into conservation careers.
A conservation levy is built into every rate, so protecting this land is something you take part in by being here.
What is next at Gondwana
Forward-looking, and not yet completed. We would rather name our intentions plainly than imply they are already done.
